Forest Falls is a 45' high and 70' wide, rock-framed cascading waterfall just upstream of the Stewart Avenue Bridge. Forest Falls is located within a steep section of Fall Creek Gorge. It can best be viewed by looking upstream from the Stewart Avenue Bridge that spans the gorge.It is part of a series of waterfalls along Falls Creek in that flows through Fall Creek Gorge, a hanging valley created in the last Ice Age by the glacier that created Lake Cayuga.
View from the Stewart Ave. bridge, or hike the orange-blazed Cayuga Trail along the gorge rim for a closer look. (Connects to falls #16.) The trailhead is at the bridge, near the “Cayuga Heights Historic District” sign. 0.2mi. Easy trail.
From Ithaca Take Buffalo St. east (uphill) 0.3mi and turn left on Stewart Ave. Go 0.8mi and turn right on Fall Creek Dr., just past the Fall Creek bridge. The small visitor parking lot in 0.2mi on your right.
