Dawn Mist Falls is one of the most powerful and scenic waterfalls in Montana. It is situated in a beautiful and less-traveled region of Glacier Park that abounds with wildlife and offers a variety of terrain. 

The trail drops to the Belly River for a couple miles and then heads up the valley through forests and occasional meadows. After almost six miles of hiking, a side trail to the first backcountry campsite, Gable Creek Campground, appears on your right at a gorgeous view of the colorful rock ridges of Gable Mountain.

After almost 6 miles of hiking, a side trail to the backcountry campsite. At a junction with Cosby Lake Cutoff Trail, continue forward past the Belly River Ranger Station. When you pass the Gable Pass Trail on the left, keep going straight along the Belly river trail. You enter diverse forests and proceed to hike over a few hills east of the river. Later, the trees get shorter and you glimpse the gorgeous Gable Mountain. Cross a swinging bridge over the river to a junction where Belly River Trail merges with Ptarmigan Trail. Turn Left and follow the river on its west shore. A half mile later, a side trail on the left takes you a few hundred feet down to a gravelly beach .As you turn towards the falls, Prepare yourself for a Shocking display of beauty.
