The Magic Waterfall of the Malo River is a waterfall located in the San Carlos Precinct of the parish of Gonzalo Días de Pineda, canton El Chaco, north of the province of Napo, in the Amazon Region of Ecuador . It is located at an altitude of 1,384 meters above sea level, in the buffer zone of the Cayambe-Coca Ecological Reserve . The Magic Waterfall is approximately 50 meters high and is formed by the waters of the Malo River, a tributary of the Quijos River. The great pressure of the water generates a cloud that is perceived a few meters from its fall.
In order to reach the bottom of the waterfall you need to walk around 1.5Km from the main road or drive from the highway 1Km and hike 500 meters (5min).In the entrance you can rent a buoy which you can use to ride the ride downstream from the bottom of the waterfall to the entrance (30min downstream)  The ride is a relaxing experience to admire the nature of the place. You can do a day-trip from Quito or Baeza and visit the Magic waterfall, San Rafael Waterfall (10Km east) and Tayos cave (18Km west).
